Important Notice - Course Registration and Add/Drop Process After the Registration Period for Academic Year 2024/2025, Semester II


Dear Students,

Please note that the course registration period for Academic Year 2024/2025, Semester II closed on 13 June 2026. Therefore, we are unable to make any further changes at this stage.


The Add/Drop period (24 June 2026 – 26 June 2026) is open only to students who registered for their courses during the official registration period (10 June 2026 – 13 June 2026).


If you did not register for your courses during the registration period, you must obtain the Dean's approval before any registration can be processed. 

You are required to download the Late Registration/Add-Drop Form from the IMS, complete it, and obtain the Dean's approval.


Course Registration and Add/Drop Period (2024/2025 - Semester II)

To: 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 Level Students and Repeat Students

(Batches 23, 22, 21 and 20)


All students are hereby informed that course registration for Semester II of the Academic Year 2024/2025 must be completed via the IMS during the following period:


Course Registration Period:

10th   June 2026 – 13th  June 2026 (12.00 noon)

Add/Drop Period:

24th   June 2026 – 26th   June 2026


Please Note:

• Registration for Semester II of the Academic Year 2024/2025 will be available only to students who have completed the semester renewal payment. (Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science programme in Batch 20 and earlier batches are not required to make the semester renewal payment.)


• The Add/Drop period will be available only to students who complete course registration during the proper registration period (10 June 2026 – 13 June 2026).


• Students who have already registered for 4000-level courses in Semester II of the Academic Year 2024/2025 (Bachelor of Science Honours in SOR, Computer Science, and Statistics) should not register again.


• Students who need to register for repeat courses, should first register the relevant courses through the IMS. After completing the registration, they must make the required repeat-course payment through the Faculty of Science Payment Gateway (IMS) to complete the registration process.


• If you wish to register a subject on medical grounds, please verify with the Examination Registration Branch that the medical approval has been granted. After confirmation, you may register the subject as a "Medical Proper" course.


• If you encounter any errors during course registration, please inform Mr. Nadeera Bandaranayake (nadeerab@sci.pdn.ac.lk) via email and attach a screenshot of the error message for further assistance.

The payment of the Registration Fee - Rs. 500.00 is payable through the Faculty

Please note that students who do not fulfil the above requirement will not be

able to register for the semester courses and will not be considered as

registered students of the Faculty for Semester II - Academic Year

If you have submitted an appeal regarding your combination, please do not register for any courses until the appeal process is completed.


Students are kindly requested to ensure that all course additions or drops are finalised within this period. You must register for foundation courses along with courses relevant to your assigned combination number.

Dear Students,

Please note that if you wish to register for Foundation Courses in the Academic Year 2025/2026, whether as a proper or repeat student, you are required to complete your registration within the specified period.

Batch 24 students are also required to register for the Foundation Courses for the Academic Year 2025/2026 during  this period.

All students are hereby informed that registration for Foundation Courses for the Academic Year 2025/2026 – Semester I,

must be completed via the IMS within the following period:

Course Registration Period: 23rd March 2026 to 25th March 2026 (12.00 noon)


Note:

If you need to register for a course as a repeat student, you must pay a repeat fee of Rs. 50.00 per course through the IMS payment gateway. After completing the payment, please send the payment slip to erb@sci.pdn.ac.lk.

Please ensure that your medical records are verified with the Examination and Registration Branch.

Kindly note that this registration is open only for Foundation Examinations

Notice_Foundation Courses_Examinaiton 2025_2026_Sem I

Student Guide -Clearance Process (Faculty of Science)

01. Students must first collect the Clearance Form from the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Science.

02.Students must visit all relevant departments where they have followed courses since 1st year.

  1. Obtain the signature of the Head of Department (HoD) from each department.
  2. If there are any dues or pending matters, they must be settled before obtaining the signature.

03.After completing the Departmental clearance, students must visit to the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Science and collect the final clearance forms directly from the Dean’s Office.


(If any outstanding dues are indicated in the provided due list with respect to the Faculty Library, Main Library, or Student Services Division, they must be fully settled prior to the submission of the final clearance.)


After completing all the above steps, students must submit the following to the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Science:

  1. Completed Clearance Form
  2. Student ID Card
  3. Student Record Book


Notice : If the Student ID Card or Record Book is lost:

Make an entry at the nearest police station.

Submit a copy of the police complaint along with the above documents.


IMS Account Deactivation for Passed-Out Students

Dear Students,

All accounts of passed-out students have been blocked from the IMS, as they are no longer continuing their academic activities at the faculty.

You may obtain your transcript/student copy from the Dean’s Office after completing the clearance form.

Students who wish to apply for a Partial Transcript are kindly requested to follow the steps below carefully:


Visit the Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya website:https://sci.pdn.ac.lk/

Then click Online Services , List of Services, or directly visit:https://scis.sites.pdn.ac.lk/

Go to Student Services and click “Read More”.

Click on “Transcript, Provisional Certificate and Degree Certificate Request”.

Click “REQUEST NOW”.

Open the Google Form using the following link:https://forms.gle/4vJcZUokhTUFaroq7

In the Google Form, select the relevant application and choose “Partial Transcript”.

Complete and submit the application form with accurate details.

Make the required payment using the IMS Payment Gateway.

After completing the payment, attach the following documents:

Payment voucher/receipt

Completed Partial Transcript application

Submit your request after attaching all required documents in the relevant sections.


Transcripts are sent only to Universities, Ministries, Embassies, or other recognized institutions.

Transcripts are not issued directly to applicants or in personal names, as they are confidential in nature.

  2. Fill in your Principal Subjects at the relevant levels.

After finalizing the Degree Claim Form, please submit a printed hard copy to the Examination and Registration Branch from 3rd February 2026 to 7th February 2026 (excluding 4th February 2026).

• Please ensure that your Name, NIC, and Subjects are correct before finalizing the Course Selection Form.

• Once the Course Selection Form is finalized, the Print button will be enabled, and you will not be able to make any further changes to your principal subjects or the Course Selection Form.

  2. Fill in your Principal subjects at the relevant levels.
  3. Navigate to the "Degree Claim Form" menu and select the course for which you are claiming the Final Degree.
  4. If you wish to drop any courses, select the "No" button accordingly.

After finalizing the Degree Claim Form, please submit a hard copy with your original signature to the Examination and Registration Branch from Tuesday, 03rd February 2026 to Saturday, 7th February, 2026. 

(Please note that the Examination and Registration Branch will not be available on Independent day, 4th February 2026.)

Note:

  1. Please ensure that your Name, NIC, and Subjects are correct before Finalizing the Course Selection Form.
  2. After finalizing the Final Course Selection Form, the print button will be enabled, and you will no longer be able to update principal subjects or make changes to the Course Selection Form.
  3. Please note that you are given one opportunity to submit the Degree Claim Form through the IMS. Other Honours students are not permitted to submit the form during this period. You may submit the form once we officially announce it.

Degree Claim Form Submission – Honours Degree Programmes_2023/2024

Dear Students,

Please note that the Degree Claim Form submission is applicable only to the following Honours degree programmes during the period 24th January 2026 to 31st January 2026:

  1. Biomedical Science
  2. Botany
  3. Chemistry
  4. Geology
  5. Microbiology
  6. Zoology

Only students enrolled in the above Honours degree programmes are permitted to submit the Degree Claim Form through the IMS during this period.

Students of the above Honours degree programmes who have not yet submitted the Degree Claim Form are requested to submit it on or before 31st January 2026.

Please be informed that only one opportunity is provided to submit the Degree Claim Form via the IMS. Students following other Honours programmes and other degree programmes are not permitted to submit the form at this time.

Students of other degree programmes will be informed after the finalization of grades, and the submission of the Degree Claim Form will be opened at that time.


Medical Requests - End Exam/Mid Exam/Quiz/Course Work/Practical Work

Submission of Medical Certificates


Students are kindly requested to carefully follow the instructions below when submitting medical certificates.


1. Method of Submission (From 02.02.2026 onwards)

  1. Manual submission of medical forms is NOT allowed.
  2. All students must submit the medical application through the IMS system.
  3. After submitting online:
  4. Take a printout of the submitted form
  5. Sign the printed form
  6. Attach the original or certified medical certificate
  7. Submit the complete hard copy to the Examination and Registration Branch

?? Failure to follow this procedure may result in the medical application being rejected.


2. Submission Deadlines

  1. Online Submission:
  2. Must be completed within 14 days of the missed examination.
  3. Hard Copy Submission:
  4. The printed form and medical documents must be submitted to the
  5. Examination and Registration Branch within 14 days from the date of illness or accident.


3. If You Are Seriously Ill

If you are unable to visit the university due to serious illness, you must:

  1. Email the Senior Assistant Registrar: sar@sci.pdn.ac.lk
  2. Copy the email to: erb@sci.pdn.ac.lk (Examination and Registration Branch)
  3. OR
  4. Send the required documents through a responsible person on your behalf.


4. Applicable Cases

This procedure applies to students admitted to:

  1. University Health Centre
  2. Government Hospitals
  3. Private Hospitals

All such students must complete the Medical Submission Form (online + printout) and submit it within 14 days of illness or hospital admission.


5. Checking Medical Status

  1. After submitting both online and hard copy, you may check your medical status via IMS.
  2. The status will be updated 4–5 weeks after submission.
  3. Students are advised to check IMS accordingly.


6. Course Registration After Medical Decision

  1. If medical is approved:
  2. Register the relevant course(s) as Medical Proper
  3. If medical is not approved:
  4. Register the course(s) as Repeat
  5. Pay a fee of Rs. 50 per course

If you have still not submitted your 2023/2024 examination admission card, you must submit it on or before 7th January 2026.

Dear Students,

Please note that the 2023/2024 Semester II examinations scheduled for 16th, 17th, and 18th October 2025 have been postponed due to the interruption of the water supply in the University.

Examination Time Tables and Issuing Examination Admission Cards – 2023/2024 Semester II

To: 1000/2000/3000/4000 Level Students,

Students are requested to obtain their Examination Admission Card for the Academic Year 2023/2024 (Semester II) from the Examination and Registration Branch of the Faculty between 22nd September 2025 (from 12.00 noon) and 26th September 2025.

Please note that duplicate Examination Admission Cards will not be issued under any circumstances. Therefore, you are responsible for keeping your Examination Admission Card safe.

  

  1. No Candidate will be admitted to the Examination Centre without the Examination Admission Card and the Student ID Card.

Degree Claim Form for Applicants of the Applied Sciences Degree Programme

Dear Students,

Students who have completed the degree requirements by the end of Semester II of the 2022/2023 academic year are requested to submit their applications for applicants of the Applied Sciences Degree Programme.

To complete the submission process, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://sciims.pdn.ac.lk/ and log in to your account.
  2. Fill in your Principal subjects at the relevant levels.
  3. Navigate to the "Degree Claim Form" menu and select the course for which you are claiming the Final Degree.
  4. If you wish to drop any courses, select the "No" button accordingly.
  5. After finalizing the Final Course Selection Form, the print button will be enabled, and you will no longer be able to update principal subjects or make changes to the Course Selection Form.

After completing the Degree Claim Form, please submit a hard copy to the Course Unit Office by 10th March 2025.

  1. Please ensure that your Name, NIC, and Subjects are correct before Finalizing the Course Selection Form.

Students who have completed the degree requirements by the end of Semester II of the 2022/2023 academic year are requested to submit their applications for the award of the B.Sc. degree.

To complete the submission process, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://sciims.pdn.ac.lk/ and log in to your account.
  2. Fill in your Principal subjects at the relevant levels.
  3. Navigate to the "Degree Claim Form" menu and select the course for which you are claiming the Final Degree.
  4. If you wish to drop any courses, select the "No" button accordingly.

After finalizing the "Degree Claim Form," submit a hard copy to the Course Unit Office on or before 12th March 2025.

(Please note that the Course Unit office will not be available on 9th March 2025.)


Note:

  1. Please ensure that your Name, NIC, and Subjects are correct before Finalizing the Course Selection Form.
  2. After finalizing the Final Course Selection Form, the print button will be enabled, and you will no longer be able to update principal subjects or make changes to the Course Selection Form.
  3. Please note that only Honours students in Biomedical Science, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Zoology are allowed to fill out this form. Other Honours students are not permitted.

All 2000, 3000 and 4000 Level students of the Faculty of Science are hereby informed to renew registration for Semester I - Academic Year 2023/2024 on or before 02nd February 2025.


The payment of Registration Fee - Rs.500.00 is payable through Faculty Dashboard.

Please note that the students who do not fulfil the above requirement will not be considered as registered students of the faculty for the Semester I - Academic Year 2023/2024.
